The Wise Sage and the River of Truth In the ancient land of Bharata, nestled between the Himalayas and the sacred Ganges, lived a wise sage named Rishi Devdutt. He had spent years meditating in the forests, seeking the ultimate truth of life. Many disciples came to learn from him, but he always taught in parables, leaving them to find the meaning themselves. One day, a young seeker named Arjun arrived at the ashram. He had traveled far, searching for the true meaning of dharma. Bowing before the sage, Arjun said, "O revered Rishi, I have studied the scriptures, practiced devotion, and served the needy, yet my heart is restless. Please guide me toward the truth." The sage smiled and took Arjun to a river flowing near the ashram. He pointed at the water and asked, "Tell me, what do you see?" Arjun replied, "I see the river flowing towards the ocean, never stopping, never looking back." The sage nodded. "Just like this river, life flows forward, never pausing. But if one does not understand the current, he will struggle. Jump into the river and bring me a handful of its water." Arjun hesitated but obeyed. As he bent down to collect the water, the river flowed through his fingers. No matter how hard he tried, he could not hold it for long. The sage laughed and said, "Just like this, truth cannot be held in one’s grasp. It is ever-flowing, always changing, and cannot be confined by mere words or possessions. True wisdom is in flowing with life, not against it." Arjun’s eyes sparkled with understanding. "So, I must not seek truth as a possession, but live in harmony with it?" The sage placed a hand on his shoulder. "Yes, my child. When you stop trying to control everything and surrender to the divine flow, you will find peace." From that day forward, Arjun no longer searched for truth—he lived it. Moral of the Story: ✔ Truth cannot be possessed; it must be experienced.✔ Life flows like a river—resisting it causes suffering.✔ True wisdom lies in surrender and understanding, not in control..
